Tyrian's full game mode features a credit and equipment-buying system, and the shield/armor hit points which are similar to game mechanics in Raptor: Call of the Shadows, another PC game from the same period. Before the player's starship is destroyed it must take enough damage to exhaust several points of shields (which regenerate over time) and armor. The game presents a variety of enemies (some flying, some fixed, some on rails) and bosses, with many occurrences of fixed and/or indestructible obstacles. The player controls a space ship fitted with different weapons (front and back, linked to the same button, and up to two external pods with their own buttons) and other equipment. The Microsol Corporation intends to secretly use it in its flying units and therefore began to eliminate everyone who knew its secret. There is a strong assumption that she was able to discover a priceless mineral, due to its anti-gravitational properties, called Gravitium. A dying buddy told him that the big corporation Microsol was behind the action, leading the terraforming process. One day, Trent's best friend of the breed, Buce Quesillac, was shot by surprise. The latter was located near the territory inhabited by the lizard-like Hazudra race. The main character is Trent Hawkins, a pilot who searches for places suitable for settlement on terraformed planets. We choose one of the three stages (Deliani, Space Station or Savara) and we get a certain amount of time to complete the entire level. The game has also been enriched with new spaceships available in the store and the Timed Battle mode. Thanks to him, we get to know the continuation of the story presented in the original. For this edition, the creators have prepared new content, including an additional, fifth chapter entitled Hazudra Fodder. In turn, as the game progresses, we get access to an ever larger arsenal and discover new fragments of the presented story. We take control of a spaceship and our task is to survive the wave of enemies coming from the edge of the screen, and then defeat an extremely strong boss at the end of each stage. Tyrian 2000 is a resumption of the classic two-dimensional production straight from slot machines, released in 1995 under the title Tyrian.
